Mental Health Therapist (full-time) – Central Coast Treatment Center

Location: San Luis Obispo, CA

Program Overview

The Central Coast Treatment Center is dedicated to providing compassionate care for individuals of all ages affected by eating, exercise, and body image disorders. We offer Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) that integrate evidence-based therapies with experiential practices. Our holistic approach emphasizes healing the mind and body, fostering self-worth, and promoting authentic recovery.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Full-Time Mental Health Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in delivering trauma-informed, client-centered care. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to recovery, utilizing a blend of therapeutic modalities to address the complex needs of our clients. Time commitment per week 32+ hours.

Essential duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead group therapy sessions

  • Offer meal support to clients

  • Conduct individual therapy sessions

  • Assist in creating and running an adolescent-specific IOP & PHP track

  • Act as a family case manager/liaison for our adolescent clients and their families

  • Collaborate with registered dietitians to create client’s individual treatment plan & evaluate client’s food and eating disorder behaviors, as well as their treatment goals

  • Create and update master treatment plans and chart progress notes in a timely manner

  • Coordinate care with client's outside providers

  • Lead Family support groups and /or family therapy sessions

  • Conduct initial and concurrent insurance utilization reviews

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.

  • Active, unrestricted license (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent) in the state of California preferred. [Associates and Master’s level clinicians in active pursuit of licensure may be considered.]

  • Experience in treating eating disorders, trauma, and co-occurring mental health conditions strongly preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Commitment to cultural awareness, trauma-informed care, and ongoing professional development.

Dietitian (part-time)

Registered Dietitian – Central Coast Treatment Center

We are seeking a Part-Time Registered Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary team in delivering trauma-informed, client-centered care. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to recovery, utilizing a blend of therapeutic modalities to address the complex needs of our clients. Expected hours 15 – 20 per week.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Conduct weekly individual sessions with PHP and IOP clients

  • Create and oversee breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner meal plans

  • Manage inventory, shopping lists and budgeting of food for program

  • Coordinate with nutrition assistants to maintain highest standards for meal preparation and meal support protocols

  • Coordinate patient care with treatment team, including charting and communication with nursing and other adjunct outside clinicians

  • Attend weekly supervision/treatment team meetings

Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • Registered Dietitian License (RD, RDN)

  • Experience in treating eating disorders, trauma, and co-occurring mental health conditions strongly preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
