 Frequently Asked Questions

+ What ages and genders do you treat?

We treat ages 13 and up, and all genders.

+ What are the hours and days of the week for the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

Our program is available 3-5 days/week. Individuals can initially attend 5 days and then gradually step down as they progress in treatment. Program is 3-4 hours per day, with flexibility based on the client’s needs, and we can accommodate for school, work, or other outside demands.

+ What if I am referred by a therapist and would like to continue seeing them while in treatment with CCTC?

Clients are encouraged to continue to see their existing therapists, and all existing health care professionals can receive weekly progress if the client so desires.

+ What types of weekly individual sessions do PHP clients have?

1x individual psychotherapy sessions and 1x individual session with a registered dietitian specializing in eating disorders. Family/couples therapy is provided on an "as needed" basis for adults and family sessions are always included for our adolescent clients.

+ What types of insurance do you accept?

The Central Coast Treatment Center is contracted with most major insurance companies. For those providers that we are not contracted with, we are happy to discuss the possibility of a Single Case Agreement should it be in the best interest of the client. At this time, we are unable to work with Medicaid, but can provide referrals to other programs that you may be eligible for.

+ How much of the cost of treatment will i be responsible for?

The clinical intake includes an insurance and benefits check that will determine your costs. Insurance policies differ by individual and by company. Based on the information provided by the clinical intake, the Central Coast Treatment Center evaluates the level of treatment needed and sends an initial clinical request to the insurance company. We advocate on behalf of the client for the level of care we believe appropriate based on our assessment. Clinical utilization reviews then take place regularly during the course of treatment.

+ How do you address food allergies, preferences, and vegetarianism?

We are sensitive to each patient’s food issues and provide flexibility in our menus. We take into account diagnosed food allergies, blood sugar issues, and other dietary needs. We offer vegetarian choices, and work with patients to differentiate between food preferences and food restrictions driven by eating disorder thoughts.
